Water service has been restored to thousands of residents in the Granada Hills and Porter Ranch communities almost a week after service was disrupted, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power says.

Water service was restored Monday to more than 9,200 customers in Granada Hills and Porter Ranch who were without service for almost a week due to a broken valve. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power said service was fully restored as of 2:27 a.

DWP customers are still urged to continue using boiled or bottled water until the LADWP staff completes two 18-hour rounds of water- quality testing.
