Dallas Cowboys first-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer came away from the joint practice with the Los Angeles Rams with three major points.

The Los Angeles Rams are holding their first of two joint practices today as they visit the Dallas Cowboys ' training camp facility in Oxnard. It's an important day for the Rams' starters because they won't play in the preseason, so this will be their primary exposure to other teams before Week 1.

Earlier in the day, Williams and the Rams agreed to a three-year, $33 million extension. Hours later, Williams showed exactly why he was worth the money. He broke off a long touchdown run up the middle, displaying good speed through the hole – something that was lacking at times last season.
