The San Diego Padres recently landed Mason Miller in a blockbuster trade. Does this deal mean they're going to trade away their current closer, Robert Suarez?

The Padres addressed that need in a separate trade with the Baltimore Orioles, acquiring Laureano along with first baseman/outfielder/DH Ryan O'Hearn in exchange for six prospects.It's unclear whether Preller was considering acquiring players other than Kwan in their talks around De Vries.

"The Padres have no plans to trade closer Robert Suarez," Nightengale writes, "giving them the best bullpen in baseball. They may also keep starter Dylan Cease, after all, with J.P. Sears giving them plenty of depth. Once again, the Padres are all-in."
