Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Jose Alvarado has rejoined the team following an 80-day ban for PED, but he is barred from pitching in the postseason per MLB rules.

When the league suspended Alvarado in May, Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski said Alvarado told the team he was taking a supplement for weight loss. He did not go through the proper protocol to see if it was approved. “I took a drug that I didn’t think was contaminated,” Alvarado said in Spanish.
