Smoke from wildfires in Canada continue to impact air quality in the northern United States, even in the New York City metro area and Hudson Valley.

The smoke floating over the border shared between America and Canada is now impacting air quality in states as far south as Texas, AirNow's data shows. The EPA has declared the air quality in states near the Canadian border as "unhealthy or "unhealthy for sensitive groups."

Smoke from hundreds of wildfires in Canada is lingering over the northern U.S., spreading across to roughly a dozen states from Wisconsin to Maine.
