The Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District called for an evacuation of the Panorama subdivision and areas east of County Road 100 to Upper Cattle Creek Road.

The wildfire was mapped at 107 acres. It burned north of Panorama Drive, and below the Ranch at Coulter Creek Subdivision. When crews arrived at 11:04 a.m. on Sunday, they found an active fire burning in grass, pinyon, juniper and sage moving at a fast rate of speed.

Firefighters have officially left the Coulter Creek Fire after fully containing the 104-acre wildfire, but plan to monitor the burn area for flareups while neighbors breathe a sigh of relief for a wildfire that got too close for comfort.
