A delegation of Texas House Democrats had to evacuate their hotel in Illinois Wednesday morning due to a potential bomb threat, according to multiple lawmakers and local police.

Illinois law enforcement officers should be allowed to arrest Texas House Democrats who have been staying in the Chicago area this week, Attorney General Ken Paxton argued in a lawsuit filed Thursday evening.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and House Speaker Dustin Burrows filed suit in a heavily Republican, rural part of the Democratic-led state.
