Aston Villa and Newcastle United will go head-to-head at Villa Park on Saturday lunchtime in their opening Premier League game of the season.

Unai Emery admits he enjoyed working with Jacob Ramsey at Aston Villa, but says his focus is solely on the squad at his disposal. Ramsey, a product of Villa's youth academy, is set to complete a transfer to Newcastle in a deal worth up to £44 million, with £39 million guaranteed.

Newcastle dominated the first-half, although neither side broke the deadlock. Anthony Elanga was played through on goal early doors, but his shot was saved. The visitors ended up having eight shots, while Villa did not trouble Nick Pope in the Newcastle goal once.
