On a recent episode of GQ’s “ Most Iconic Characters ,” Neeson, who plays Qui-Gon Jinn in the “Star Wars” prequel, joked that his death in the film was “a bit namby-pamby” and that he thought a Jedi master would fare better in a battle with a Sith lord.

While making the rounds promoting The Naked Gun, actor Liam Neeson touched on his role as Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace. The film, which was released in 1999, saw Neeson's character die at the hands of Darth Maul, a death that was soon avenged by Jinn's Jedi apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi.
