The plan would be voided if the Delaware Supreme Court overturns the decision to spike Musk's $56B comp plan from 2018. A judge ruled in 2024 that plan was unfairly negotiated.

Tesla has handed its chief executive, Elon Musk, shares worth almost $30bn after the billionaire warned he could leave unless he was given greater control over the company. In a filing, Tesla said it had awarded Mr Musk 96m shares valued at roughly $29bn as part of an interim 2025 award.

The new package comes just six months after a judge ordered the company to revoke his $56 billion pay package.
