The move comes nearly five years after Amazon acquired Wondery as part of a push to expand its catalog of original audio content.

Amazon on Monday said it would lay off 110 people in its audio division Wondery, as more podcasts are including video.

Amazon is reorganizing its audio entertainment operations with plans to consolidate some of the production now done across its Wondery and Audible brands. As a result of the changes, Wondery CEO Jen Sargent is exiting her post after four years at the helm of one of the industry’s largest podcast studios.
