A federal judge has denied the Department of Justice 's (DOJ) request to unseal grand jury transcripts related to the indictment of Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted longtime associate of disgraced pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein. Newsweek has contacted the DOJ for comment.

U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer said anyone who was following the Jeffrey Epstein case would "learn next to nothing new" by reading the grand jury materials.
