A teenage boy sent a heartbreaking final message to his father before flash floods swept through Uttarkashi's Dharali village. Dozens remain missing.

Dehradun, Rescue operations in Uttarakhand's flash flood-ravaged Uttarkashi district gained momentum on Thursday, with 65 stranded people airlifted to Matli, officials said. Efforts were also stepped up to airlift advanced equipment to the Himalayan village of Dharali to speed up the search for those trapped under rubble, they said.

A natural tragedy has unfolded in Uttarakhand, where flash floods have devastated Dharali, a scenic stopover near Gangotri. The sudden deluge led to the collapse of homes and hotels, leaving tourists stranded and turning peaceful villages into ruins.
